German Social Worker, Provides support for Vulnerable Children in Nigeria

Support for the Less privilege has been described as  a way to establish equitable social order in the society.

Hence, public spirited individuals and corporate organisations have been called upon to part with their resources to assist the vulnerable ones.

This call was made by social workers and those who benefited from the humanitarian services rendered by a German Volunteer, Giselar Jarrar during her short visit in Nigeria in Ilesa Osun.

This Special report examined the impact of services rendered by this Volunteer social worker from Germany, how she sourced and spent over one million naira to meet divers  needs of the vulnerable people.

Ms Gisela Jarrar Sixty years old and a retired  paeditrician nurse from Germany.

Narrating  her motivation in helping the less privileged, Gisela explained that it is in her make up to do services to the Vulnerable.

Her first visit to Nigeria was in 2011 as a volunteer for a local Non Governmental Organisation, Living Hope Care, in Ilesa, Osun State.

This trip made deep impression on her seeing the plight of vulnerable children.

In view of this, Gisela promised herself to go back to Germany to source to be able to meet some of this need.

True to her words she returned to Nigeria December last year, having raised seven thousand and five hundred euros,  private donations from friends, civil societies and church members.

Aside her support for grip of Salvation, she also provided wheel chair for the  physically challenged, granted  scholarship for an indigent student and intervene to single handedly provide seven hundred thousand naira, being part of  money needed to carry out a surgical operation  for an indigent boy who is suffering from scalp tumour.

Some of the beneficiaries of Gisela Humanitarian work, Proprietress of Grip of Salvation, Mrs Felicia Odeyemi and Mr Olawepo Joseph who benefited from the surgical operations bare their minds on  the support they received  from this humanitarian worker.

Gisela Jarrar now back in Germany challenged Nigerians, regardless of financial status on the need to contribute their quota to support the less privilege saying it is a way to establish  equitable social order.

The social worker who described Nigerians as warm and friendly added that true service to God is indeed service to humanity.
